Launch night Thursday May 3rd
Electric Underground began in January 2007 with the idea to give independent producers a platform on which to perform. A passion for original music and the thrill of putting on live gigs summoned a need to provide the people of Cork with a new dimension to an already diverse scene. Our new residency is in the fantastic liquid lounge club which is right in the heart of Cork city – Launch night on May 3rd. We will be running live gigs there every Friday from the 11th of May. The club will run from 9:30 - 2am with at least three acts playing per night. For more info see www.myspace.com/elecunderground
The Liquid Lounge is located on the top floor of Clancy’s, and is the first "Lounge Club" to hit Cork. Reminiscent of the modish living room-style clubs in Miami, New York & London this late lounge stands out from the rest with extensive comfortable seating, a sleek VIP area, and atmospheric music, which sets the mood without taking away from your desire for conversation. The Liquid Lounge holds roughly 350 people at capacity. There's a great dance floor with a state-of-the-art sound system. Upstairs you will find ‘D-Deck’ where you can sit at a table, chat and also provides a smoking area.http://www.clancys-bar.com/index.php?pageID=2
HERV brings his own style of melodic breakcore in the vein of such acts Venetian Snares and Aphex Twin. With twenty one releases to date Herv is one of the most prolific figures in Irish electronica. “This HERV CD 'Customer' sounds promising with the opening strings of 'Konnektquartet' which are reminiscent of Aphex Twin or Apparat. Then we get some chopped up jungle breaks and 8-bit video game sounds. Think of Joseph Nothing, Mochipet, Printed Circuit, Cylob, Team Doyobi.” – Norman Record’s review of latest album ‘Customer’. "Like watching late period Rick Wakeman being attacked by robots made out of old spring coils. And if you don't think that's a pretty appealing vision, well then, you're missing a few mental teeth." – Byron Coley, The Wire.

FOREIGN BODIES was formed in 2004 by Luca Pentek and Kevin O Flynn who both shared a similar electronic interest. The Cork based duo play live electro and techno using mainly hardware equipment over the last three years and have assembled an amazing live show. It’s a simple fact that Foreign Bodies will make you want to dance and shake your body. ‘4U’ has proved to be a live favourite with it’s simplistic styled synthesized vocals. http://www.myspace.com/1foreignbodies
