When you think of Soma records or Slam, you usually imagine the turntable skills of Stuart and Orde; the classic trax like Positive Education; and the best thing to come out of Glasgow since a 4-4 Auld Firm derby draw in the 80s. Jim Hutchison is, however, an unsung hero of the Glasgow underground. Alongside Tom Churchill (Emoticon/Head Space) & Jason Brunton (Iridite/Rub-A-Dub) he is at the hub of all that is creative and good in the Scottish techno and electro scene.

As Promotions manager at Soma Records in Glasgow, he's helped bring in new and exciting talent like Alex Smoke, My Robot Friend and Vector Lovers. Jim is head of A&R of new Soma offshoot Pnuma.
