Class day and night alright, heres my post from bodytonic:
The gig was brilliant, far better than I expected it to be, got my hands on some last-minute complimentry tickets from the Star so decided I'd give it a look
Got down there quite late and Kerri Chandler was on, enjoyed his funky house tunes even if I wouldnt be his biggest fan. Then went to see Marco Bailey followed by Dave Clarke at 8pm...what a brilliant set by Clarke, the highlight of the night for me by far
After Clarke we Queued for 15 mins to get into the trance arena to see Oakenfold, and it was worth it just for the size of the place, looked exactly like the point imo. I'd be one of Oakenfold's biggest critics but his set last night was decent, very few s**t trance tunes and throwing in Where The Streets Have No Name in the middle was a very nice touch.
We finished with Cox who i thought was quite average, although still way better than the last 2 times I saw him play in Dublin , and he sure seemed to be enjoying himself
Just back in Dublin cos my friend lost his car keys - nice 8 hour round trip to get it back |

Yeah he was super. I went down early to listen to John Power and the Potbelleez cos ive seen the boys a few times in Sydney. Holy crap they were fantasic. Six decks! The room was rocking from 3pm because of it. I stuck around and Al Gibbs was wicked too. Big ups toi the Irish boys. Got very loose to Kerry Chandler and was really disappointed Tim Deluxe never showed. All round fantastic day. Congrats to the organisers may there be many more!!!

crazy event, weather held up well and most djs showed up that were on de line up!!
did anyone see just b4 halliwell came on when the sound engineer cut of the sound by accident, and when he got it back on he started get the crowd going mad by waving his arms as if he was one of de djs??legend!!
i seen sum nutter fall off the balcony outside the godskitchen arena looked sore!!
the global and techno tents were great 2 get away from all the shams that generally go to the godskitchen events
best set in my opione was between clarke and liebing. Sasha/digweed and lawlor were class 2!
place was filled with plenty of scum though |

this is from a guy who loves coxy clarke etc , funny wat he says about tiesto , in boards there is alot of people dislike tiesto but they are comin round , im just wondering did any of ye get to listen to him or oakey maybe good to hear wat ur views a re like
I'm only just back from Cork now (5 hour bus trip to Galway )
First impressions were fairly bad... mostly due to the pig ignorant scum that these kind of events attract like moths.
Got a chance to check out most of the people i wanted to... was hanging around with a mate all day, so we made plans on who we were going to see early on in the day.
Umek - ****ing quality!
Fergie - utterly ****e
Marco Bailey - pretty damn good
Keri Chandler - cheesy as hell but entertaining nonetheless)
Adam Freeland - his essential mix is one of my faves... his set from ggg was one of the lowpoints of the day... monotonous crap.
Danny Howells - highlight of the day. wasn't sure what to expect but i'm sure as **** going to get more of his stuff now.
Dave Clarke - meh...
Steve Lawler - meh...
Paul Oakenfold - pretty entertaining actually. "where the streets have no name" sounded ****ing immense through that system
Sasha & Digweed - couldn't get into them tbh.
Tiesto - i can see what the fuss is about now. would love to get a copy of this set
Lisa ****ing Lashes - first three tunes were ****ing abysmal (this coming from a hard nrg freak), her mixing seemed so pissweak after Tiesto (wtf was with all the gammy sounding spinbacks and cutting???). another lowpoint. but at least i knew what to expect this time...
Coxy - decent |

Its three days later and i still cant get over how much fun I had, and although Im one of the more vocal slaters of trance I enjoyed Oakey and Tiesto (what was the name of Oakeys opening tune? He plays it all the time, very commercial but hey)
Why have they stopped organising the likes of Homelands and Creamfields on these shores? I'd almost forgotten how amazing festivals are |

I was at the UK one, was two days of Madness.
Underworld were sh1t on friday tho.
Steve Lawlor and Digweed were the higlights on Saturday.
Big shouts to Morillo (yes Morillo) for a great party set.
Also Plump dj's weren't bad either (the little bit I saw of them). |

That's the 3rd time I have heard of Oakie playing "where the streets have no names".
1st was in Pacha, Ibiza 2001. 4years later in Spirit. I'd put good money on it that it was the same set he played in Spirit a few months back! PPK Reseruction etc.
I think the U2 tune is the original he plays |

Oakie was absolute pants in the UK. Nice to hear some of the old trance classics but he wouldn't mix eggs....
Hope he never comes out of retirement again! |

Think youre going deaf, the sound in there was too loud if anything. And that version of Where The Streets is just the U2 original |
