As you may know, Morgan Geist is not a huge fan of flying, and that's why it's taken so long for us to nail him down to a dublin date for DownTownSounds. he was due to fly from his New York base to Dublin via London late this evening, but the unfortunate events in London earlier today have unnerved him to such an extent that he will now not be boarding the flight. Despite our best efforts, an alternative flight could not be arranged.

We realise that this will come as a huge disappointment to a lot of people out there, as it of course does to us, but these are circumstances far beyond our control. Mr Geist sends his sincere apologies, and has promised to come and play at a DownTownSounds party at the earliest possible date.

We would like to extend our thanks to Steve Kotey of the Chicken Lips, who has agreed to play a special 3 hour set tomorrow night at extremely short notice. Monsieur Kotey absolutely wrecked the gaff when we saw him play at Backlash in Wax last July,mixing up a special brew of twisted, dirty house, humpy funk, electro and lots and lots of hipshakin' disco/cosmic boogie. Some of you may be familiar with his series of 'Big Bear' disco remixes,alot of you will be familiar with the Chicken Lips and their brand of 21st century discoid productions. so once again, our apologies for this absolute mess...... let's all hope it's a kick off party in spite of it all.

Admission is 7e b4 12 and 10 after.

Message from Morgan Geist

Hello people:

Morgan Geist with a quick checking in. I want to first offer
condolences to our brothers and sisters in the UK and beyond affected
by today's tragic events.

Shifting gears, I want to tell you I was really looking forward to
playing tonight and look forward to visting you very soon! I've heard
only great things about your city and the parties thrown and am
excited to share some music with you all.

Finally, before I sign off, I feel compelled to dispel rumors.
The postponement was a joint logistical decision initiated via my
European booking agency, Backroom Entertainment, and involved not
only the Dublin date but also a Metro Area gig the following night in
London. I feel obliged to anyone supporting me to reiterate that I
take my bookings very seriously and do not cancel on a whim! Flying
not being my favorite pasttime has never stopped me from touring; my
DJ gigs are scarce because I prioritize studio work, plus I have a
label to run.

I hope this clears things up. I regret the postponement of the gig,
but we will make it up soon. Thanks again to DownTownSounds for
inviting me to share the music and I will see you peeps VERY soon!

Was looking forward to tonight, hope Morgan visits soon, I'm a big fan of Metro Area. Thanks for the effort DownTown.
