"A MOVING ARIA TO A VANISHING STYLE OF MIND"
Greetings sun-worshippers,
Kudos to all those who helped jam the club for our 'Give Us The Night' sesh last weekend. If you haven't signed up already, you can give your support to this most worthy and noble of campaigns here: http://www.giveusthenight.com
The bould Tiddlerz was in irresistible form last Saturday building up a great groove before unleashing monsters from Steve Bug, Slam and other technoid titans.
News just in from '110th St' HQ.... After weeks of intensive market research (i.e. during fag breaks outside the Vic), we've been listening to some of your ideas regarding improving our night. One of the most common suggestions is that rather than hosting a weekly residency, we should concentrate our energies on being a more 'event' orientated club (the 'less is more' school of thought). Which is why a new night called 'The Brouhaha' will be debuting at The Vic on Sat 17th June. '110th Street' will host all other Saturdays in June bar Sat 17th. With regard to July & August, we'll keep you posted closer to the date, but don't forget that the mighty Erol Alkan & the sublime Ewan Pearson are scheduled for summer visits to our club night.
Also, some more news just in - 'The Hive', which cut a rug in several different venues round town last year - is back for a night of 'anything goes' music selection in Bar 903, next Friday 9th June. Admission is free, with Cian & Cyril on the decks from 11pm till late.
THIS SATURDAY - BERLIN'S BOYS NOIZE:
He's been playing Germany's best clubs for years where his wild & sometimes experimental mixes of electro, techno, punk and disco have built up a loyal following. In 2003, Alex Ridha (whose alias is Boys Noize) produced some tracks and got in touch with DJ Hell. Hell knew that he found a talented young guy and signed the first Boys Noize single to the his world famous International Deejay Gigolo imprint.
Shortly after, Alex decided to start his own label, eponymously titled Boys Noize Records, whose stunning releases have found favour with A-list talent such as Ivan Smagghe, Erol Alkan, Soulwax, Trevor Jackson and Sven V |
