King Britt arrives @ GPO, Galway on Friday 26 May for a night of funky, soulful house music in the company of Galway's finest - The Disconauts, percussionist Mark Logan and the one and only Shake! (Ray &Aran). Rarely do you get the chance to see Philly legend King Britt in action. Those of you who saw him at last years Electric Picnic festival will have fond memories of his amazing set in the Bacardi B-Bar. His sets can only be described as infectious, soulful and ultimately fulfilling!! . King has remixed Edwin Starr, Curtis Mayfield, Yoko Ono, Cut Chemist, Attica Blues, Victor Duplaix, Urusula Rucker, Macy Gray & Nikka Costa to name just a few from his long discography! He has a brand new album out in June called "The Nova Dream Sequence" on Compost Records which can be picked up from all good record stores.
The Disconauts, Keith, Padraic & Mark (Percussion) have been doing the club and live circuit for some years now. The three have developed a unique club act, combining funky, soulful and Latin/ African sounds including house grooves with live timbales, congas and bongos. Mark who has played with the likes of James Taylor Quartet, Crusaders & Jimmy Tenor to name but a few will be playing percussion alongside King Britt on the night.
Shake! are DJ's Ray McDonnell and Aran Mc Mahon who have been busy with nationwide gigs over the last few months including venues such as RiRa in Dublin, The Left Bank in Sligo and last years Electric Picnic Festival. Join the Shake guys for a night of worldwide soul and party funk in Drum.
