Lovely, lovely, lovely stuff from this Swedish outfit. I only wish I had discovered their material earlier on and it would have provided a lovely soundtrack for the summer.
Koop are two guys, Magnus Zingmark & Oscar Simonsson who occasionally like to "dress up". This is their second album in four years following on from "Waltz", which was more of an underground hit than their more accomplished second outing. A few big wheels on the Acid Jazz scene contribute to the vocals in this album including ex Galliano front man Earl Zinger and Yukimi Nagano who has previously worked with Saint Germain and I am nearly sure Ian Pooly at one stage.
This is easy listening in its purest form. From start to finish the album flows in a pleasant and warm manner. If the traffic is getting on top of you or you boss has pi$$ed you off, slap this on and everything will be fine. "Koop Island Blues" and "Forces…darling" are my two favourites off the album and will defo be going on to my next chill compilation.
